Our Small Delights

Through everything we go through, my cub and I, we always find something that just delight us and muse us over. Most often it's the smallest things. This week, we have spent a lot of time between Kansas city ,MO and Kansas city, KS. From sunsets, views, bugs and our silly selves ..here are some images we have to share of things that have made us happy.

Tearing apart an acorn, Isabel found an Acorn Weevil larvae. Interesting little thing. We must have watched it for 2 hours before she put it near soft dirt for it to burrow itself in.

This moth was found struggling on the grass so Isabel picked her up and spent time with her, about 2 hours or so. She gave her water, calmed her down and noticed green stuff stuck to her underside. Online research suggested it was her egg sack. Once she seemed stabled, Isabel calmly put her on a tree where she seemed to stay and we said goodbye.

In an attempt to chase the best locations for sunsets we were lead to this World War I monument. It's rather interesting actually. Though, the sunset was on the complete opposite side of the structure it was still interesting to see.

The pure Irony of chasing sunsets led us to a lake that until we left, had no idea we had been there before. Lake Swuannee of Mariam, KS. It was honestly wild because we were here in May and I had no idea we were even near it. To be at the same lake we picked up litter out of for a half of a day was by mere coincidence. None the less it made for an amazing end of day find and we were happy and exhausted.

In our moments when we adore....we made the best of our day of exploring simple things. I appreciate these little finds for they don't always come to us...we mostly venture out to find them.
